Hortus M. Singers

The Hortus M. Singers was found in 1986, in the Piarist Church town of Vác, Hungary. It provides musica service in the liturgy of the Masses, but for many years it has also given concerts at many places in Hungary and abroad too. On repertory is church music from Gregorian to contemporary composers, but includes madrigals, spirituals, other famous melodies and Classic music + Jazz too.

Additionally to theses selections are include original jazz arrangements and jazz improvisations. The group have got various own pieces of music.

Whether performed in jazz clubs, churches, opera houses or concert halls, the Hortus M. '1,5 hour show has something for everyone.

In 2000 the group was awarded International Lyra-price and took part succesfully in many international festivals and competitions: Debrecen , Arnhem,  Fano,  Miskolc,  Loreto,  Trecastagni,  Győr,  München,  Wien,  Alta Pusteria,  Montreux,  Graz,  Roma, Trostberg, Salgótarján,  Bern.

In the vocal groups performance a CD was published in 1998 with the title  "21 Songs From The Church"  and an other one in 2007 with the title  "Time Travel",  in 2008   " Evergreen Jazz", in 2012 with the title Vocal Spirit.

The Hortus M. Singers is a welcome guest at the local and national televisions and radios.
